This was a great book!! The idea for the story was so original! The storyline was fast moving and imaginative and had some very creative details. Hard to put down! I really appreciated the lack of sexual content and very little gratuitous violence. This book does have violence (about what you would expect from an action movie) but everything has bearing on the plot- there is very little there for shock value. There was one instance of shocking violence, which is why I would not recommend this for anyone younger than a teen.I gave this book four stars because I think some of the subplots and dialogue could have been more developed. I also prefer to see the author's faith woven throughout the book rather than at the end. The originality of this series alone makes it worth reading! I'm really looking forward to the sequel!

A little slow in the beginning but once you get past that it's hard to put down!!!
Great storyline as to how disaster occurs and not like any other I have read. Interesting reading about characters figuring out how to survive in catastrophic conditions. I hope we never have to know those skills, but surviving with common sense is celebrated.
I liked this book and finished it wanting to know more! I plan to read any sequels that are released.
As a first time novelist, I could see room for improvement, but overall he did a great job. The world and characters had thought behind them and there were plenty of turns in the story to keep you guessing. I enjoy science fiction books and I felt that, as far as science facts go, the author did his research when needed and left things vague when appropriate.
The book had a clean sense of humor and tried to avoid a bunch of swearing and violence. There was no sexual content to speak of. Because of this I would recommend this book for middle school and high school aged students.
The reason I gave the book three stars was because I feel like the dialogue and characters could use some work. Sometimes the conversation seemed overly wordy or forced. The characters at times fit their "tough guy" or "spoiled brat" persona a little too well. There were times that the situation was a little implausible, and I'm not talking about the science aspect of it. All this said, it was a great first book and I look forward to reading more from this author and seeing him grow as a storyteller.

I really enjoyed this book. The writing is solid and intelligent. The characters take a little while to develop, but the more I observe the story layout, it almost feels deliberate, like you're meant to be in the perspective of one of the survivors slowly learning about the characters as they open up after "the event." The action is steady and starts to really take off midway through the book. Some of the character motives get a little muddled here and there, but it's not terribly disruptive to the book overall. A fantastic first run and hopefully a sign of what's to come!
I'm going to give this book five stars because, I'm not typically a science fiction fan and this book actually kept my attention.
For his first book, I was so impressed and couldn't put it down until I reached the end. And it left me wanting more. Can't wait to see if there is more about Project Nomad or more from this author in the future!!!!!!!
