The Probability of Violet and Luke The Coincidence Book 4 eBook Jessica Sorensen

I absolutely loved the first book in this series. I have been waiting anxiously for this book to come out and was very surprised to find out that it was not the conclusion of the story. The books is very short and does not cover very much. The whole span of the book is only about one weeks time. We did not really learn anything new about Violet and Luke in this story and we only get a small snippet of the mystery aspect.

I had no problem with the first book ending in a cliff hanger. The story was going into a whole new direction and I think it was the perfect time end in and let the next book pick up where if left off. This book just totally felt like filler and most likely a set up for a new book featuring Luke's cousin. This is a story that could have easily been told in two books and clearly feels like it was stretched to fit into three books.

I don't think the price of the book was fair. It is a very short read for $4.99 and there were significant editing errors in the story. There were several typos and some very annoying word mix ups. The worst being "discriminating" instead of "incriminating" It is a huge pet peeve of mine when people mix up words like that and to see it in a book that I paid $5 is very annoying.

I am getting frustrated with Ms Sorensen's books. I love her characters. She has a great imagination, and a good writing style, but I feel like all her series get stretched out too far. Either they have the annoying filler middle book, or they just go on to the point where I am bored of the couple and tired of them having so much drama to deal with. It is also very annoying how far apart the books are spaced. I wish she would finish with one series before she starts another. Her books seem to be getting more expensive, and more poorly edited. She has some books due to come out that look really good, but I am not sure if I will buy them or not. Once I start a series I want to finish it and I feel like I might be better off not staring at all. I hate the thought of missing out on some potentially great characters though. I think she needs to slow down on writing so many books, focus on one series at a time and take more time to be sure the books are well edited before releasing them.

I will definitely be fishing Violet and Luke's story, but I feel like I was ripped off with this book. I waited a long time and spent a lot money on not a lot of book. I hope the third book will be the conclusion of their story and that I will not have to wait too long for it to come out.

The Probability of Violet and Luke The Coincidence Book 4 eBook Jessica Sorensen Reviews

I might just enjoy Luke and Violet’s story better than Callie and Kayden's. And I’m so thankful that Jessica Sorensen decided to write Luke and Violet’s story. At the end of The Destiny of Violet and Luke we found out that Luke’s mother was instrumental in the murder of Violet’s parents. Violet doesn’t think she can deal with that and flees back to Preston, her last foster father and a drug dealer. Preston has hit Violet in the past on top of forcing her to sell his drugs to repay him for letting her live with him. He holds the fact that she has no other family over her head, and Violet lets him. I was a bit frustrated in the beginning with how far Violet was willing to let Preston push her all for the sake of not being alone. That’s one of my biggest frustration with Jessica Sorensen’s characters. Often times, they’re so “woe is me” that it takes entirely too much to bring them to the point where they take control of their own destinies.

Even though I was further along in the book than I expected to be when Luke and Violet actually spend any significant amount of time together, it didn’t feel like it took that long for them to get to that point. Luke is hurt and angry that she left him like she did, but he knows that she’s pretty much it for him. He wants her back. And he’s willing to go so far as to turn his own mother into the police just to prove that Violet means more to him than anything else. I was afraid Violet would fight their relationship harder than she did and was gratified with that turned out to not be the case.

Violet and Luke still need help heading in the right direction. Violet still struggles with using adrenaline rushes as a coping mechanism. Luke still struggles with alcohol and nicotine addiction and is headed down the path of gambling addiction as well. I am excited to see where these characters are headed, especially with the newest break in the case of Violet’s parents’ murders.

The Probability of Violet and Luke gets 3.5 Stars from me. It was a quick, easy read. And I got sucked in quickly, even though the overall story didn’t blow me away. And as a small side note, I appreciated the references to “probability” which really made the title make sense. I will also say that there were some grammar/typo/spelling mistakes. I found a few. Another editing pass might be needed. Have you read The Probability of Violet and Luke? What did you think? Let me know!

What I love about Jessica Sorensen is that she has this uncanny ability to write characters that you can empathize with. You may not like their choices. You might not like the way they handle stress. But you can't help it when you root for them to have a "come to Jesus" moment.
The Probability of Violet and Luke is no different. I'll admit, if I met these 2 at my local university, I would probably write them off as bad kids. I would probably try to stay away from them. But here, with this story, i want to reach out to them. I want to tell them other people care. That's some great writing to be able to do that.
My only issue is the sheer volume of of drama surrounding Violet's story at the very end. It felt like too much for me. Maybe I'm being unrealistic and this is the type of thing that really happens. Or maybe Ms. Sorensen is being unrealistic and its just too much. Either way, it is my only complaint.
And now I anxiously wait to see what happen in the next installment.....
